[Diagram](https://imgur.com/a/34Z0Tsv) System: Conventional A/C w/ external compressor in attic, with tankless Navien boiler and Taco ZV403 3 zone. Hi all - Had an issue with the Ecobee powering off intermittently out of the blue. Then the heat stopped responding. The original installation used a PEK. Got sick of it and ran brand new cables to the attic (air handler) and basement (tankless). Air handler works fine, but the Ecobee is constantly making a T-stat call to the Taco - immediately w... I will preface this post with this. I generally hate doing these types of jenky fixes but in this case my options were a cheap jenky fix or $1,500 on a new bumper, lip, and, paint. That being said it made more sense for me to go with this fix for the time being. I am also not that big of a cosmetic guy so please forgive me if I did anything not kosher. The issue: When I first bought my z, it had a small gap between the bumper and lip. At the time I was so excited about the car I didn’t think m...
Some more details: We bought our house over a year ago, and before we moved in a new aerobic septic system was installed because a previous home inspection had found the old one to have failed. Thus our system has an air compressor into the septic tanks to provide them with outside air. This is a repeat of a problem that showed up last winter and seemed to have gone away on its own (I know, I know...) When we flush the upstairs toilet, the pipes start gurgling and large amounts of air start c...

Howdy y'all. I recently decided I want a smart air conditioner, so I went out and bought a Nest E. As my first step, I used a spare wire in the 18/5 that was running from the thermostat to the air handler as a C wire. I attached the wire on the 24V side of the transformer, where it feeds a control signal to my compressor. It seems to work fine: the old Honeywell I had was now able to run without batteries. Next step, install the Nest. Except, I'm not sure what wires I have. I tried to instal... American Standard TEM6 with 4 ton 2-stage compressor running at 45% air flow with Gold 824 stat during dehumidification/cooling 1st stage. The 45% is the stat's measurement. Is this safe for my compressor? I thought typical air flows should be 65-70% for 2 stage compressors. I recently fixed the wiring to match the wiring diagram in the 824 stat's installation guide, since the installers did not follow instructions at all and merely connected the BK wire without cutting the jumper or bypassing ...
Air compressor installation diagram. I have a 407C A/C unit that has begun to have problems getting down to the proper temp set point. It will blow cool air out, but if the thermostat is set to 72, it will just keep running and running, dropping down to about 74/75 degrees but never reaching the set point. I verified that the evaporator coils aren't frozen over, and have cleaned off the condenser coils and installed a new filter. The fan appears to be running properly, and nothing appears to be pulling any excessive amperage. A ... Hi all, A couple of days ago I noticed that the top section of my freezer was thawed out. After a long investigation I noticed that the issue was that the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment was not operating (evaporator fan pushes the cold air into the top freezer compartment and down into the fridge). For context when the fridge first starts up the fan does 2 slow rotations and then stops indefinately Investigation completed: 1. Compressor and compressor fan working 2. Thermal fuse has... Hi Everyone, I have a nice aluminum air tank sitting idle that I'd like to make a small portable air compressor out of. I plan to harvest a silent fridge compressor for this project as well. Can anyone suggest a good guide or video that goes through all of the components and installation diagrams? I want to be sure I put the whole thing together correctly and safely. Thanks for any leads! Hello /r/HomeImprovement, long time listener, first time caller. I've recently bought my first house, a 1940-built Cape Cod 1.5 story home, in Michigan, DOE Zone 5. I have a few questions, so sorry if the post gets too long. The Situation: Going into purchasing this house, I knew that the upstairs bedrooms get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. That being said, I've found with the recent warm weather we've been having that our first floor isn't comfortable and the second floor is unbear...
Pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/ZF2zBVX So I'm working on adding some circuits and fixing some issues with my house. House was built in 1964, and renovated in 1982. I'm assuming that the central air conditioning was added at that time (bottom right 40a breaker in the top section of the panel) . Panel is an old Powell split phase panel, and is (beyond) fully populated. My original intention was to add a subpanel in the garage with 220v circuits for my welder and air compressor, as well as 1-2... I recently noticed a YouTube posting by a person that had a recommendation for a small generator to power his air conditioner when he was boon-docking in hot conditions. He mentioned the EasyStart Soft Starter by Micro-Air. I have a 15 BTU roof air conditioner on a 2001 29v Fleetwood Tioga that works great. But when the RV sits in the driveway before and after trips to cool it down required cranking the generator. Plugging into either 15 or 20 amp. house plugs popped the breakers every time. ... Can anyone suggest a good guide or video that goes through all of the components and installation diagrams? I want to be sure I put the whole thing together correctly and safely. Thanks for any leads! I got a new house recently, with half the garage space. It's become quite a mess because I need dust collection/air filtration. I already have an AC vent and an exhaust vent. I have an air filtration system that I'm yet to install. So, dust collection is one of the final pieces. I plan on installing my dust collector and air compressor in the attic and running it to a mounted system on the garage ceiling. Because I have such a small garage, I'm often moving tools, so permanent duct install is o...
I have one of these: http://www.quietbreeze.ca/sdc_s2.html I've noticed that occasionally the air conditioning system will be running, but the air in the room feels... wet. I've installed a thermocouple at the discharge of several of the vents. When the air feels wet, the thermocouple measures room temperature or slightly higher. I believe the compressor isn't running at those times. Sometimes, you can hear the compressor starting. From what I've read a bad motor capacitor should cause proble... Without context: When removing the bad AC fan, I thought I’d disconnected all the wires properly, but it came out with the single blue wire held by the clip on the bottom of the fan dangling, and I have no idea where it connects to re-install it. Can’t find anything on Google. Help? With context: I’m no mechanic and don’t know car parts or names at all. The closest post said it goes to a coupler. Not even sure what that is. I’ve been doing this repair myself because I took it into a mechanic to... Hello, Thank you for taking a moment to look at this challenge I've been facing. I have a York Affinity YZT36B21 3-Ton outdoor unit (condenser/single package) installed with a CF/CM/CU48C+TXV indoor unit (evaporator/air handler) and furnace TM9V080C16MP12 (in the attic). This is a hybrid heat pump with a variable speed 2 stage gas furnace. These components are wired up to an ecobee 3 lite (main floor) and ecobee 5 (upstairs). This is set up as a dual-zone system for upstairs and the main ...
I am 18, recently graduated from high school, and looking to hold a part time auto mechanic job as I go to college for mechanical engineering. I don’t have any actual work experience to show in this field, however, I have done a lot of work on my personal vehicle (a 1999 2.3l Ford Ranger xlt). To date I have installed: power windows, power locks, power mirrors, a modem radio, a backup camera system, an independent blindspot camera system/ monitor, a tachometer, new 12v outlets (old circuit was...
